Behind IhrCarport.eu stands ALC Metalltechnik GmbH: a master metalworking business from Carinthia that designs, makes and installs every carport itself — for winters as they really are in the Alps.
Who we are
A family business from Carinthia
ALC Metalltechnik GmbH is a family-run master metalworking business from Völkermarkt in Carinthia — engineering knowledge and the locksmith trade under one roof. That combination shapes every carport that leaves our workshop in Schlachthofstraße: soundly thought through structurally, precisely executed by hand.
As a carport manufacturer from Austria we have deliberately stayed small. We do not build mass-produced goods but a compact standard range in three sizes — and, if you wish, special builds to your sketch or your architect drawing. Whoever calls us does not speak to a sales department but to the people who will be standing at the saw and the welding torch the next day.
Why we exist
Imported carports and alpine winters do not go together
The trigger for IhrCarport.eu was a recurring picture: carports out of the catalogue, built for mild winters, that do not stand up to the snow loads in Carinthia and Upper Styria in the long run. Bent purlins after a wet February snowfall, rust at the cut edges after a few years — that is not bad luck, that is under-dimensioning.
Our answer is consistent: every carport in our range is designed for 250 kg/m² snow load. We build from S235 steel and have every structure hot-dip galvanised at a Carinthian galvanising plant — corrosion protection through and through, not just on the surface. The trapezoidal sheet roof with anti-condensation fleece and the sheet-metal fascia on three sides are standard with us, not an item on a surcharge list.
How we work
Quality takes time
Our carports are made by hand in Völkermarkt — with a lead time of approx. 4 weeks. That is longer than shipping a kit from a central warehouse, and it is deliberate: cutting, welding, galvanising and final inspection happen at our workshop and at our partners in the region, not somewhere along the way through Europe.
Nor do we let your carport out of our hands once it has been made: within 350 km driving distance from our works our own team installs it — on foundations prepared on site, to our foundation plan, at transparent fixed zone prices. That way responsibility stays in one pair of hands from the first line on the drawing to the last bolt.
